A young woman stands barefoot against a building wall with her arms crossed, looking back at the observer. She wears long blue skirts, a matching shawl, and a tall wide brimmed hat. In the upper right corner Mark signed and dated his painting: "Bogota, Feb. 25th 1847". Edward Walhouse Mark was born in Malaga, Spain
