Layers of hulled cotton seeds are spread over mats of human hair and heated in trays and subjected to pressure. The oil is squeezed and cooked out of the seed and the oil flows through the hair mats and into troughs. It is collected as crude oil and sold for use in oleomargarine, shortening and in soaps.
