including both antique and contemporary decor

The globe can be unscrewed at top and lifted off

Photos show that there are some broken pieces

They feel to me midway between Italian reliquaries and Victorian glass domed waxworks, and most of all full of the never ending (and very early Victorian) drive to make momentos of every sort lest one be forgotten. And these of course are best lit by candlelight, with the reverse
