I found a matching deck of these cards in the online collection of the British Museum

with sumi ink characters on the front and back covers

as it's one of my favorite new old things

but they are hard to hold onto

Cast Iron Art Nouveau Bookend with Super Folky Face doll hand A little bio: Alice NanogakWhat I love about this old art nouveau bookend is the super folky (one might say homely) face on this a nude, completely endearing her to me even as it somewhat undermines her seductive pose. I don't believe this was intentional, but I think it makes this a marvelously human, empathetic thing. Love. 6" t x 4 1 4" w x 2 3 4" d and heavy. 1920s I believe, and in good condition, with loss to what I believe was a bronzed finish, all the good I think.
