Description

Made by Royal Winton Grimwades

but earlyish 19th century I believe

which blow up a screw and bolt

I know that is Hudson River School and I am pretty certain 1830-1850 or so

but I’m not quite sure what else this very lovely turned wooden case would have been made to hold

Charmingly Naive 19th C. Roses Watercolor bible bookmarks Made by Royal Winton GrimwadesI'm a sucker for a very naive watercolor of roses, and think this is quite a sweet one, found in Maine. Third quarter 19th c. I believe, with a partial embossed stamp to the paper at upper left. I especially like the detailing at the very centers of the blooms. A charming and cheering thing. 7 1 2" x 6 1 2" and in good condition, with an irregular lower right edge as evident, and a small stain over the right edge leaf.
