Constructed of silvered zink with multi coloured enamels and paint, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, around a white painted disc overlaid by a German national eagle clutching a cogwheel, in turn bearing a HJ insignia, topped by an inscription of GAUSIEGER, flanked by a date of 1944, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked G.
